Hi there,
As you now I shall be the media officer of the Maltese contingent in the WSJ07.
I am sending some photos and notes on how we doing at the Jamboree.

Well the site is impressive in size. Lots of walking to go from one area to another. I already have blisters in my feet. Today I almost did 5hrs of walking.

Yesterday we had to wait for 4hrs for the transport to arrive. We arrived at the campsite at about 7pm GMT and it was almost pitch dark when everyone was ready from the tent.
Early in the morning, at 5am, we had to move all the tents as water rose up from the soil under all our tents.
During the morning all IST's were busy in their "Jobs Meetings", Briefing and Training.

The Malta stand was also handed over to us and we took all our stuff there ready to be used.

Early this afternoon (Wednesday) we had a taste of the first rains, however, it did not rain for long. The wind is quite strong.
Tonight we attended a party for ISTs.

That's all for today.
We eagerly await the arrival of the rest of the contingent on Friday.

Hi There,

Today the weather was very varied. We had sun, rain and strong winds. The campsite itself is soggy due to the rain that we had and walking around is not very easy.

The image of the Centenary Jamboree site is getting better every day, besides that the activity in it is also on the increase. The first participants from the home country started to arrive today. In fact about 3,000 U.K. Scouts, which is about 10% of the total number of Scouts attending the Jamboree, made their way into the campsite today.

Our advice to the Malta Contingent that will be leaving Malta on Friday (tomorrow) is to equip themselves with plastic boots and good water proof clothing.

The IST's had a rather busy day. While some were kept quite busy, others were fortunate enough to be given light jobs. I, myself, was quite busy as I had to distribute chairs and tables to sub-camps. This took me around 10 hrs of work utilising a large truck. We continued work on the setting-up of the Malta stand and this is now almost ready, with practically all the crafts that we took up with us almost in place.

This evening's entertainment will consist of a Karajokee and bingo, although it is my guess that most of us will retire to their tents and go to sleep considering the hard day we have had.

We eagerly wait the arrival of other participants in order to experience a camp site full of activity.
We also eagerly await the arrival of our colleagues from Malta and wish them a good trip - See you soon.

Good night to you all.

Hi there,

Today (Friday) we continued to see the arrival of other Scouts from different countries around the world and this means that the various sub-camps are now being filled up.

We had a nice British sunny day, however, still being a bit windy. The sun did help in drying up the campsite and make it more comfortable to walk around.

Our Malta Stand is now almost ready and the lidna (vine) is gracing the entrance to the stand.

Our jobs as ISTs are mainly concerned with site operations such as cleaning, Health and Welfare and security.

At the time of writing this message, the first party from Malta arrived on site.
They should very soon start pitching tent.
