   Europe- The Lands of Adventure!

Lands of Adventure is a programme for scouts aged 11 to 16, developed by many scout associations from European countries, coordinated by the European Scout Office, which is situated in Geneva, Switzerland. The aim of Lands of Adventure is to reinforce the idea of a common peaceful Europe, and also to allow Scouts to gain an appreciation for their European neighbors.  

“LoA“, as it is commonly known, is open to scouts from all over the European Scout Region, which includes all countries from Iceland to Malta, Portugal to Greece, including Turkey and Israel.

Lands of Adventure gives you the opportunity to get closer to Europe, to realize your creative ideas, to share the results of your work with other scouts and to make new friends of your own age over the internet … and maybe even in real life! You will learn about the people, culture and scouting in other countries as LoA's objectives are to :

• Encourage Scouts to gain an appreciation for their European neighbours.

• Encourage the Patrol System.

• Encourage the use of the new technologies in the Scout programme.
• Introduce and develop the project approach in the Scout age section.

The Lands of Adventure Programme ….

There are three parts to the Lands of Adventure programme.
Each programme can be completed in any order. It is up to you to decide how.

					Europe @ EUR Door is a project based on finding out about another country. Patrols can be encouraged to select a country that is of interest to them.
					Express EURself is a creative project encouraging patrols to select a project that will give them the chance to display their creative abilities to others.
Click here to find out how to proceed					EUR Hopping is a partnership between two or more Scout Patrols and/or Groups from two or more European countries which involves establishing contact, regular communication, joint decision making on a common project, common preparation of the project, implementation and finally common evaluation and follow-up.

Lands of Adventure in Malta
In every country of the European Scout Region there is a “LoA-Ambassador“, who promotes and coordinates Lands of Adventure in his/her country. The LoA-Ambassador will help you get started on Lands of Adventure, and will be able to assist you should you have any problems or questions. So don’t hesitate to contact him!

For Leaders and other adults in Scouting there is also a programme called EUR Event.
