Ćuprija 2010 invitation from Bosnia and Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten.

Please find the draft proposal and application details for the International Youth and Heritage Summer Camp: Ćuprija 2010 (July 26th - August 14th 2010, Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina), to be organized by International Forum Bosnia and the Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten.

As you are aware, this will be the fifth year of the camp. Previous camps have been very successful. As well as the highly successful workshops and educational activities, each camp has made a direct and very valuable contribution to the rehabilitation of the historical and cultural environment of the town. Works have included participation in the renovation of important monuments of the town, the rehabilitation of the river bed, ancient bridges, and ancient watermills of the town, and the restoration of the International Youth Cultural Centre or Brade House.

The 2010 camp is envisaged at a larger scale than those in the past couple of years, with an increase in the number of participants from around 40 to around 100 and a concomitant increase in the number of activities. We have therefore decided to circulate this provisional proposal document, drawn up in collaboration with the Luxembourg Scouts and including a proposed schedule for the camp.

For further details, kindly contact the Organizational Board of the Camp at E-mail: ifbosna@bih.net.ba through the international desk.

Dear fellow scout,

scouts jamborette 2010 belgium

The scouts of Ninove, Belgium are organising their second international camp: the 'Jamborette 2010'! This is a smaller and more intimate version of the big jamborees.
The reason: our group is turning 90 and we want to celebrate this event with as many international scout groups as possible. The 'jamborette' will take place from July 24th until August 2nd 2010.
Our goal is to host 500 scouts and guides in our hometown Ninove during this ten day's camp. Ninove is a small provincial town about twenty kilometres from the European capital Brussels. Nevertheless, it's a very rural and green region: the perfect setting for our jamborette! The campsite is situated near by the magnificent medieval towns of Ghent and Bruges.
The cities will be the gorgeous background for our central theme: Scouting in the Middle Ages! For ten days you will be submerged in the life of a real scout in a medieval setting.

You' ll be able to enjoy:

- A pleasant stay in a nice location together with many other scouts groups of different nationalities and cultures.
- Lots of activities, such as a visit to Brussels and Ghent, typical Belgian scouts activities, a rafting expedition, a cooking competition, archery .. and cooking on a self-made log fire!
- An exciting two day hike, full of scouting techniques!!!
- Smashing opening and final shows, with a medieval sunset in the background.
- Participation in old trades, originating from the most mysterious period in our history: the Middle Ages.

Taking part only costs you 250 euro!

If you can't get enough of Belgium and you want to stay on after the Jamborette, you can do so through our Home Hospitality System. That way you can prolong your stay and be a guest in a hospitable Belgian family.

Do you want to be a part of all this???

Go to http://www.jamborette.be or check the brochure for more information and sign in.

We hope you're interested!

Kind Regards

This will be accompanied by more than 250 individual activities including one day at our water activity centre and the opportunity to “get back to Scouting basics”, developing international friendships and generally have a great time.

Each evening, the site will come alive with music, activities and the opportunity to make new friends.

Dear All

Please find a request from the 20th Oldham Scouts of the United kingdom, channelled through the commissioner for training, who wish to establish international scouting contacts with local scouts.

1. Would it be possible to set up contact with a troop in Malta who would be interested in developing international activity?
2. Badge swaps
3. Internet pen-pals
4. An exchange 'blog' describing what we've recently been doing
5. Setting up webcams on a troop night.
Have you any other suggestions?

This is a great opportunity to virtually visit other scouts abroad, even from ones very own local scout headquarters, getting to know others whilst learning from each other's experiences.

INTERESTED?????

The opportunity is there, so why not take up the challenge?

Interested groups or individual members are kindly asked to contact Scout Leader Martin Authur in this regards on martinarthur@hotmail.co.uk and copy myself on ic@maltascout.org.mt.

Good Luck and best regards,

David Schembri

Hello!

I am a member of San Agustin's Scout Group 151 in Madrid and my group was looking for other groups in different countries to exchange experiences, make new international friendships and to know other scouts in Europe.  So I would love you to send me the name of the biggest groups in the main parts of your country like La Valleta or Gozo..

And also the name of those groups which are located in interesting touristic places like beaches, mountains... Also, groups who have had any international experience like Jamborees or Roverways. The main reason why we want this information is because we are really interested in going to your country, meeting European scouts and also if they want to host us, we'd host them of course. So please I'd be really grateful if you could send me the names of these groups and a phone number or email address to contact them.

Thank you very much
Yours sincerely
