Dear Scout,
In March 2008 Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) organised
for the first time the World Scout Winter Games and it was a big
success!! There were 9 teams of Scouts from 8 different countries
who came together to Switzerland to compete in a number of winter
activities. The disciplines included were Cross Country Skiing,
Curling, Slalom Racing, Synchronised Skiing and a TriathlonTeams.
From the 3rd to March 8th 2010, KISC will organise the 2nd World
Scout Winter Games. Please make sure that we have a team from your
country as well.
Only one team per country will be accepted. Each team consists of 6
Scouts/Guides, aged 16 to 22. They have to be enthusiastic Scouts or
Guides with experience in at least Downhill Skiing. Training
workshops will be held for Curling and Cross Country skiing before
the main events.
There will be a maximum limit of 12 national teams and the deadline
for receiving applications is 30th of November 2009. All application
forms are to be signed by the International Commissioner.
The idea behind the games is to bring together teams from many
different countries to compete in a series of winter disciplines and
enjoy fun and a Scouting atmosphere at the same time.
